1 month

I finally tried some 1 month pictures and think I will do all three things from here on out. The first picture was the most fun. Papa and her Uncle bought her this bear before sue was born. It's huge but so us! You can slowly watch her tip over and then we master it.

Falling over!

Tipped the other way!

We got it right!

A close up of my princess! She is so beautiful!

I took this idea from Pinterest! Her current favorite food is breast milk and formula. Her favorite toys are Mommy, Daddy and her bug mobile. And she is not a huge fan of headbands but we will keep trying.

Ok the last one! I put her tutu on and the matching headband. She had a fit but this seems to be the theme lately. She has been fighting me to get to sleep and wanting to spend time in my arms. Mommy wants to break this habit before it becomes a bad one. I debated on taking it again but after thinking I decided not too! This is my princess in her current role! Hope you enjoyed!

Halloween Preparation

We went to the Pumpkin Patch last weekend and picked up several pumpkins.  The boys had a great time, while Gracie and I watched them and had a great laugh.  Over the past two days Daddy and Uncle have carved our pumpkins.  Daddy started yesterday and cut three princesses into our first pumpkin.  Check out his artwork.

I thought he did a pretty nice job and they look amazing!  We kept it in the house last night so we could be in awe of his artwork.  They finished the other pumpkins this afternoon and we moved things outside.  This is what our front door looks like.

It's not to crazy but we are getting started.  Our little princess will be able to check out her pictures and watch how the decorating grows as she grows.  Hope you enjoyed!

Costume Search!

I can't believe how fast time flies. My little princess turned a month old today. I wanted to copy some of the ideas I've seen on Pinterest but got wrapped up in the idea of a Halloween costume. We went to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen in Tyson's Corner. And when walking through the mall Daddy suggested we go to the Disney Store. We looked for a princess costume for the little princess and Mommy fell in love with Snow White. The problem is they don't make it small enough. This is the one I want for my little princess.

How cute would she be in this?! She has the dark hair and the beautiful smile. The problem is that this is for 12-18 months and doesn't come any smaller. I called 3 Toys R Us stores and 2 Party City's. I thought I was going to cry. Very frustrated I decided it was time to search the web and look for something we could make. This is what I found.

We will be going to Joann's to get everything to make this bad boy. I need it for the Fall Festival on Saturday or I would order it from TotsBoutique on Etsy.

After being so wrapped up in Halloween I didn't take any pictures celebrating 1 month. I took some pictures but nothing that says I'm 1 month old. I will do them a day late. I will put this story in my scrapbook as well. She will understand, she seems to have the same determination her Mommy has.

Well I'm off to bed where I will wait for my little princess to wake up and eat. Good night Bloggers!

More Bad or Maybe Ugly!

I shared a few of the less exciting parts of being a new mom and today I will share a few more.

So when was the last time you had to use those bad boys. Well after you give birth these little guys come back into your life. I must have ignored this part of the discussion or I wasn't told. I hate the feeling of them and I hate the idea of them. There is bleeding that occurs after you give birth and you can't insert anything so this is your only option.

Disastrous house...between feedings and lack of sleep, your house becomes a hot mess. I'm not the most organized person but I can say that I am going crazy. The feeling of not getting things done makes me crazy! I feel as if my house is a mess. The worst part is half the stuff belongs to the most beautiful princess and she can't physically make the mess.

Diaper changing...I'm not a fan of dirt diapers nor should anybody be. I feel a little OCD about this. At the beginning of this new process, I got fussed out for turning more than the light-night on to change her diaper at night. Well he was right I was really waking her by turning the lights on but I can't see so how do I know she is as clean as I like her. I have learned to calm down and the diaper later in the morning shows me I'm doing a great job of changing her in the morning. The other thing that makes me crazy is she soils the diaper as soon as I change her. I think she likes to poop in her brand new diaper more than a diaper she's had on for an hour. It almost seems as if she is waiting for me to change her.

Ok enough ranting...I will post twice tonight. Lets get int the GOOD! And the joy this little princess is bringing me.

The Bad or Maybe Ugly!

There were so many things I didn't expect or know were coming. I guess had I paid for the parenting class I might of learned some of these things. I wasn't spending $200 on a class and thought I would learn things the hard way. Well I'm learning some of them the hard way! I will let you decide if these things are bad or ugly!

C-Section....I had a scheduled c-section since my little princess wasn't ready to join the world or didn't want to come on her own. My incision looks great but some of the pain that occurs after can be painful. Recovery can be a little long and limiting. I am not a person that depends on others and will say that I have had to lean others.

Sleepless Night...Well short sleep, in between feelings that is. People did tell me this all the times. Sleep when she sleeps! I didn't listen in the beginning but learned real quick to curl up and relax or sleep when she is. Now I sleep as soon as I can fall asleep. I will say that she gruntled and seems to mumble in her sleep and I stay up to listen to her. Then you have the nights where you have both worn yourselves out and everyone in your house is snoring so you don't get any sleep. The odds feel as if they are against you at times.

Sore nipples....well I decided breast feeding was best for the princess. At first things seemed easy and were going great until she sucked my nipples raw. I was in pain for at least a week then I found some pretty amazing tools.

Lanolin is the best thing in the world. As my nipples didn't seem to feel any better I have a tube of this upstairs for post night feedings and one downstairs for day feedings. It help heal things and provided some comfort. I would also use the gel pads they made.

My mom and sister bought me 2 pairs. I would refrigerate them and keep them cool. Yes it was cold at first but felt great when I was so sore. I can say that as time went (or goes) on I have gotten pas the soreness and enjoy feeding my little princess. She seems to prefer nursing, which saves me. We do supplement as she is a hungry little girl. I have started pumping so PaPa will have it for when I go back to work.

There will be more bad and/or ugly tomorrow!

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

So this will be three parts, well four if you want to count this introduction as a part. The first three things I am going to write about include the good, the bad and the ugly of post pregnancy. The things they don't seem to tell you (or you don't seem to remember them telling you) will make up for the bad and the ugly. The good of course will involve the amazing gift you were given and the joys of having them in your life.

For those of you following from Facebook, I may share a few pictures here that I won't be sharing on Facebook. If you are interested in seeing the baby read about her in my blog instead of stalking me on Facebook!

After I have discussed some of my good, bad and ugly experiences thus far the blog won't really have a pattern to it but will share events as they happen and different tips I learn along the way. That's it for tonight...
