The Bad or Maybe Ugly!

There were so many things I didn't expect or know were coming. I guess had I paid for the parenting class I might of learned some of these things. I wasn't spending $200 on a class and thought I would learn things the hard way. Well I'm learning some of them the hard way! I will let you decide if these things are bad or ugly!

C-Section....I had a scheduled c-section since my little princess wasn't ready to join the world or didn't want to come on her own. My incision looks great but some of the pain that occurs after can be painful. Recovery can be a little long and limiting. I am not a person that depends on others and will say that I have had to lean others.

Sleepless Night...Well short sleep, in between feelings that is. People did tell me this all the times. Sleep when she sleeps! I didn't listen in the beginning but learned real quick to curl up and relax or sleep when she is. Now I sleep as soon as I can fall asleep. I will say that she gruntled and seems to mumble in her sleep and I stay up to listen to her. Then you have the nights where you have both worn yourselves out and everyone in your house is snoring so you don't get any sleep. The odds feel as if they are against you at times.

Sore nipples....well I decided breast feeding was best for the princess. At first things seemed easy and were going great until she sucked my nipples raw. I was in pain for at least a week then I found some pretty amazing tools.

Lanolin is the best thing in the world. As my nipples didn't seem to feel any better I have a tube of this upstairs for post night feedings and one downstairs for day feedings. It help heal things and provided some comfort. I would also use the gel pads they made.

My mom and sister bought me 2 pairs. I would refrigerate them and keep them cool. Yes it was cold at first but felt great when I was so sore. I can say that as time went (or goes) on I have gotten pas the soreness and enjoy feeding my little princess. She seems to prefer nursing, which saves me. We do supplement as she is a hungry little girl. I have started pumping so PaPa will have it for when I go back to work.

There will be more bad and/or ugly tomorrow!

Loving every minute of every day with my bundle of joy! Stay tuned and learn with me or relive raising your child with me!
